Pallavi Amitava Banerjee is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. She researches fairness and social inequalities in educational outcomes. She is passionate about social mobility and evidence-based education, and is working on three research projects.
This talk examines differential outcomes for BTEC students at the university. It is informed by the research evidence from the 'Transforming Transitions' project (funded by OFS), which addresses barriers to student success and involves designing interventions to overcome them. She is also working on an ESRC-funded project, which evaluates the fairness of admissions in the UK higher education sector. The other project she is working on is funded by OFS, and looks at effective evaluation of the impact of outreach interventions on access to higher education. She can be contacted by email at p.banerjee@exeter.ac.uk, or Twitter @_PallaviAB.
