Universities are a valuable resource to schools and colleges implementing the government’s new Careers Strategy. The Gatsby Benchmarks underpin this strategy, and at the University of Greenwich, we have developed an innovative programme of activities, resources, and events mapped against these benchmarks. In this interactive workshop, we will provide a short background to the Gatsby Benchmarks, in the context of widening participation and access in universities. We will present some of the programmes that universities in the UK have developed, that can enable your course provider meet these benchmarks – e.g. online resources, twilight lectures relating to curriculum, CPD webinars, and podcasts. The main focus of the session will be for teachers and advisers to share best practice and explore future developments, in partnering with higher education providers in their specific context. Attendees will leave the workshop inspired and enthused about working collaboratively with partner universities.
