Qualification reform – looking at the changes impacting the 2019 entry cycle and beyond

Tuesday 5 February 2019 10:00 – 10:50

Summary

The phased introduction of general and vocational qualification reform means significant numbers of students will continue to present mixed and new profiles for the next few cycles. This session will explore the impact of qualification reform, and consider ways to provide support. We’ll be looking at upcoming changes across the UK for 2019 and beyond, with a particular focus on GCSE reforms, including:

  • general qualification reform update, including the GCSE survey results and other work in this area
  • why and how GCSEs are used in the admissions process, and why they matter
  • different approaches to GCSE entry criteria across all four nations, and how providers are managing this
  • what providers can do to support students, schools, and colleges (Q&A)
