South East England is made up of nine counties, with popular student cities in Brighton & Hove, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, and Southampton.

The area sees plenty of sunshine and Brighton – the LGBTQ+ capital of the UK – is a student favourite, with tons of quirky shops, cafes, arts, nightlife and watersports.

Moving east into Kent, you'll find the charming towns of Whitstable, Broadstairs, and Margate – all bursting with literary history – plus the iconic landmarks of Dover’s white cliffs and Canterbury Cathedral.

London is an hour or two away for gigs, theatre trips and capital city adventures, while the country’s two largest airports – Heathrow and Gatwick – mean international journeys are easy to get started.

Campus and facilities

Recent examples of our investments in campus facilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oxford Brookes University has unveiled its new immersive VR Cave, the first in the UK that can be used to experience two different dynamic perspectives of a 3-D landscape simultaneously. The lab is being used by students across all disciplines to test and refine complex designs as well as immersive education tools.

  • Oxford Brookes Business School now has access to a new Marketing and Social Media Lab. Students will learn how to use industry standard software such as Google Analytics and Adobe Cloud applications and apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

  • Work will soon begin to enhance STEM and creative industries activity on the Headington site. The new buildings will help to facilitate the relocation of the Faculty of TDE activity which currently takes place at Wheatley. The new buildings will establish a high-quality, future-thinking and collaborative permanent home for TDE.
