At Oxford Brookes we do everything we can to help you succeed in your studies and move into your future with confidence. We have teams of specialists who work with our students to give you expert advice and guidance, and support you throughout your student journey.

Before you arrive

Our admissions team is here to help you through the application process, and our dedicated applicant advisers are ready to answer any questions you might have. 

Financial support
We offer:

  • Bookable one-to-one meetings with our experienced student money advisers
  • Our Brookes Bursary - between £1,000 and £1,250 per year for Home fee students with household incomes below £45,000.
  • Targeted bursaries and scholarships for care experienced and estranged students, young adult carers and those seeking asylum.

Academic support
Every student at Oxford Brookes has a dedicated Academic Adviser to support them on their course. You can also access our Centre for Academic Development, a friendly, confidential study advice service offering one-to-one tutorials, group workshops and online resources to help you reach your full potential.

Personal support and wellbeing, disability and mental health
When you need help or advice, our friendly, experienced staff are here to help. Think of us as your personal back up team:

  • Dedicated student support coordinators based in your subject area can support you on personal issues and signposting to specialist support.
  • Our Inclusive support service provides advice and support for disabled students, including specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and autistic spectrum conditions. Our experienced team will work with you to ensure you can access the support you need to succeed.
  • Our free student counselling services provides a wide range of support for your emotional wellbeing while studying at Oxford Brookes, from self-help resources to one-to-one support.
  • Our multifaith chaplaincy provides pastoral care for students from all faiths as well as those with none. They provide spaces on campus for prayer, contemplation and quiet time.

Careers guidance
Employers want graduates with proven skills they can take into the workplace, so Oxford Brookes University courses don’t just give you a degree - we give you work placements, professional skills and knowledge, links into industry and integrated careers guidance.

Our careers advisers will support you to research and prepare for your future career throughout your degree and for up to 3 years after you graduate.
