We are a great, modern University, in a renowned global city. Located in the centre of Manchester, our campus is conveniently located close to the city’s many world-renowned music, sports and cultural venues, as well as the second-largest Chinatown in Britain. Voted the UK’s best city to live in in 2022*, Manchester is also considered to be one of the world's top 25 student cities††.

At Manchester Met, we work closely with our city, businesses, and our academic peers - locally, nationally and internationally, to generate great opportunities for our students, colleagues and partners. We also conduct research in fields that are actively shaping the world, both now and in the future.

We are one of the UK’s top 40 universities for research power, according to the latest assessment of research excellence, the Research Excellence Framework 2021. This confirms our commitment to supporting quality research and delivering outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

We are proud to have been recognised as a top three sustainable university since 2013, winning awards for our initiatives and performance and achieving 3rd place in the People and Planet UK University League 2022. We know that there is much more to do, and we aim to build on our position, becoming a global leader for others to follow.

We are one of the largest Universities in the UK, with over 41,000 students** including a diverse community of international students from more than 100 countries. We help our students grow into highly employable individuals and provide them with regular career-focused events, including advice workshops, networking opportunities, guest speakers, industry experience and careers fairs. Our support for our community continues after graduation, with students benefitting from lifelong access to our digital careers service when they become alumni.

Whilst with us, our students benefit from a range of support services including, free English language classes and help from Academic and Study Skills Tutors. Our Student Hub also offers a comprehensive information service on all student-related matters. It can refer students for specialist support on student living, studying and finance, as well as immigration and welfare. We provide both face-to-face and online support, offering services flexibly to meet the individual needs of students.

In addition, we also have a confidential Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Team who can provide guidance through one-to-one sessions or group workshops on relaxation, stress management and confidence building.
