Student life
Sheffield Hallam University is one of the UK's largest universities, based across two campuses, in one of the UK's biggest student cities.
Our city is friendly, creative and scenic — and best of all, it’s surprisingly cheap. Sheffield’s cost of living is well below the national average, and thanks to the 60,000-strong student community you’ll find discounts around every corner.
We guarantee you a place in our student accommodation, living with other Hallam students within walking distance of campus. And we're one of the cheapest cities in the country for student accommodation. It’s one of the reasons we’re ranked the fourth most affordable university in
the UK.
At Hallam you'll have tons of chances to get involved with your student community, through activities, sports, volunteering and your Students' Union. Plus, there's plenty of support here to help you study and enjoy your time here.
Campus and facilities
The university is based across two campuses: City Campus and Collegiate Campus.
City Campus is in the middle of Sheffield city centre, just minutes from the bus and train stations. The buildings you study in are surrounded by shops, cafes, sports centres and cinemas — everything in the city centre is right on your doorstep.
Collegiate Campus is in the Ecclesall Road student district, which mixes some of Sheffield’s best bars, shops and restaurants with stunning parks for studying in the sunshine.
