Summary

Our expert panel will explore the successes and challenges of recruiting and supporting apprentices from diverse backgrounds. This insightful session will provide actionable recommendations for fostering inclusion, with a particular focus on supporting neurodiverse students, women pursuing STEM careers, students from ethnic minority groups, and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

The discussion will be chaired by Jaz Rodney-Bartlette from Nottingham Trent University, who will guide the conversation alongside an impressive line-up of sector leaders:

  • Jagdeep Soor, from the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance, an organisation dedicated to connecting underrepresented talent to high-quality apprenticeships and building diverse, inclusive workplaces.
  • Joanna Hughes, a passionate advocate for social mobility and driving change through City Century's solicitor apprenticeship initiative.
  • Jenny Taylor, from IBM, an employer recognized for championing diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace.
  • Charlotte Smith, from Cyber Security Hub CyNam, committed to broadening the appeal of the cybersecurity sector and encouraging wider representation within the sector.

This session offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into what truly works in creating inclusive opportunities and workplaces for all.
