Summary

Through a mixture of presentation, group exercises, and discussion, this session will enable attendees to understand the key features of the main undergraduate admissions scheme and its cyclical operational calendar.

You will gain an understanding of the role UCAS plays in the successful running of the scheme, and the responsibilities of HE providers.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session participants wil be able to:

  • demonstrate a basic understanding of the UCAS Undergraduate admissions scheme, cycle, and calendar
  • identify key aspects of UCAS’ role and providers’ responsibilities
  • articulate how Extra, Clearing, and Adjustment complement the main scheme, to facilitate the successful placement of applicants with a suitable provider
