I thought the talks and breakout sessions were great.
Annual Admissions Conference – enabling a world of opportunities
Welcome to UCAS’ 2019 Annual Admissions Conference. This is our opportunity to come together as a sector, to listen, learn, debate, and challenge each other, on the current issues and hot topics concerning providers and students across the UK.
The theme of this year’s Conference is ‘enabling a world of opportunities’ – a celebration of UK higher education (HE), and the fantastic opportunities it gives all those who study. In a post-Brexit world, UCAS is keen to ensure that prospective applicants across the globe know they will be warmly welcomed into UK HE. From a home-based 18 year old attending their local college, to an international student travelling thousands of miles to soak up the community and culture of a metropolitan university, to a UK-based mature student, expanding their horizons and knowledge at a campus-based rural university, UK HE offers wonderful opportunities that are rich and diverse.
UCAS is thrilled to once more host the Conference, enabling HE practitioners to expand their networks, and exchange ideas, knowledge, and good practice. Business sessions will include further insight on the development of UCAS’ new admissions services, our preparations for the launch of the adviser and agent portals, and the ever popular in-depth analysis of, and insights into, our data and statistics.
There will be sessions covering admissions, recruitment, and marketing – giving a breadth of options for all delegates. We’ll continue to host the popular panel sessions, and hear from teachers and advisers, applicants, and parents. As ever, we’re pleased to host sessions facilitated by professionals sharing good practice in managing innovation and change in an ever-evolving sector. We’re also looking forward to focusing in on the post-18 education review, and taking the opportunity to host some comprehensive discussions and impactful debates.
Whether you’re a newcomer, or you have enjoyed attending the event throughout the last three decades, I do hope you can join me and my colleagues for an engaging, informative, and enjoyable two days.
