Annual Admissions Conference 2019

The higher education sector is facing unprecedented levels of change. Further education colleges in England are a relatively small, yet important, part of the HE landscape. This session will outline some of the opportunities and challenges presented to FE colleges in light of recent government policies, and how this may impact on university and college relationships.

Learning outcomes

• Understand the strengths and challenges of delivering HE in FE. This will include:
  • looking at the changing profile of the education landscape, including regulatory evolution, the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF), degree awarding powers, and higher and degree apprenticeships
  • discussing the possible implications of the review of Level 4/5 currently being conducted by the government
