Homing instinct: discussing approaches to fee status assessment - facilitated discussion

Summary

How much evidence do you need to establish residence? What about temporary absence, maintained links etc.? If fee status is complex do you just go ahead and make the offer or wait till you’re sure you’ve got it right? What do you say to Swiss/EEA students about the first day of the year rule? Most of these don’t have a ‘correct’ answer and we won’t be aiming to provide one. Instead, this is an opportunity for practitioners with a good familiarity with the UKCISA guidance on fee status to come together and share their thoughts and practice during a facilitated discussion session. Hopefully you’ll be able to pick up some good new ideas to take back to your institution, but at the very least we should gain some reassurance that we’re all struggling with the same complex mess of rules.

The focus of discussion is likely to be primarily on the rules in England, but colleagues from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland would be very welcome to attend and share their own experiences and challenges.
