The session will be a presentation covering:
- how post-92s came into being – a history of providers that became universities, following 1992 education reforms (using our own providers as examples)
- what they offer students – so advisers are able to present them as a viable choice to students, in comparison to red brick/Russell Group providers (using our own providers as examples, to demonstrate what advisers can look for/ask about at other post-92s)
- case studies of successful students
There will also be an interactive game, looking at comparative rankings, and Q&A time.
Learning outcomes
- Advisers should understand the history of the post-92 providers.
- Give advisers the knowledge and awareness of what a post-92 can offer students.
- Increase advisers’ confidence in advising and supporting students making applications to a post-92.
