Amanda has been privileged to have worked in the field of widening participation (WP) for over 14 years, working across a number of institutions including University of Warwick, Aston University, Birmingham City University, and Aimhigher.
Graduating from Coventry University with a first class degree in Theatre and Professional Practice, it was her time as a student ambassador, and coming from a WP background herself, that inspired her to want pursue the pathway she has.
Her previous role at Aston University was as the WP and Admissions Manager within Aston Medical School, leading on a cohort approach WP programme called the Sir Doug Ellis Pathway to Healthcare Programme, as well as on the implementation of the new admissions procedures for a brand new medical school. She has since moved to the University of Warwick, where she is WP Faculty Coordinator (Science, Engineering, and Medicine) where she supports the strategic direction of the ten departments within the faculty and their widening participation plans.
She has also been the Vice-Chair of Training for HELOA, where her role was to lead on the training strategy of the association with over 100 members.
