Summary

This session is intended to provide guidance for careers advisers and teachers, to use when advising their students on writing excellent personal statements. It covers what admissions tutors are looking for, how to structure the statement, what to include and avoid, as well as examples of the good… and the bad!

Learning outcomes

Provide careers advisers and teachers with the confidence to advise their students on writing excellent personal statements. For some, it will confirm they are already on the right track, and for newer staff, it will reassure and point them in the right direction.
