This breakout session will benefit all levels of knowledge.

Summary

This session will explore apprenticeships as an option for learners. Primarily offering the opportunity for Q&A, it will provide information on the different types of apprenticeships available – including the new degree apprenticeship – how to apply for apprenticeships, course content, apprenticeship policy changes, and the Government’s apprenticeship agenda. Current apprentices will also be on hand to share their experiences.

Learning outcomes

Delegates will:
  • understand the apprenticeship options available to learners
  • find out how learners can apply for apprenticeships
  • understand why apprenticeships should be considered as an option when advising learners
  • learn the value of an apprenticeship and the career options available
  • gain knowledge on the new degree apprenticeships, and their suitability as an alternative to traditional undergraduate study
  • find out from current apprentices about their experiences of applying to and starting apprenticeships
