MAKING YOU FEEL AT HOME

Students feel instantly at home on our campus. Set in beautiful woodland grounds – just 10 minutes’ walk from Bournemouth’s award-winning beach – it is a perfect location for in-depth study.

The main college building dates back to 1888, housing two large lecture theatres, practice rooms, science and human anatomy pro-section laboratories, an extensive library, restaurant, student bar and lounge as well as a retail centre. It sits happily alongside our state-of-the-art chiropractic clinic, the Centre for Ultrasound Studies and our Bournemouth Open Upright MRI facility. Students also benefit from an on-site gymnasium, which boasts cardio equipment, indoor football pitch, Olympic lifting platform and climbing wall.

ABOUT US

Here at the AECC we have a global reputation as a leader in musculoskeletal healthcare.

We are proud to offer students the opportunity to benefit  from our state-of-the-art facilities and international reputation, which we have earned through continuously driving innovation and development.

Since opening our doors to students in 1965 as the first chiropractic college in Europe, we have built on our success each year through our commitment to excellence in all that we do, now offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We remain committed to excellence in education, clinical training and research that allows us to cultivate an environment in which our students are encouraged to achieve the highest standards and our teaching staff are regarded as among the best in the world.

As such, those who are attracted to undertake our courses come from various educational and professional backgrounds, including: science, sport, physiotherapy, medicine, chiropractic, exercise science, osteopathy, nursing and radiography. In 2016 we were delighted to be awarded Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP) and gain institutional designation, which mean that the College is able to validate, deliver and award its own degrees as well as receive public funding directly.

Achieving both TDAP and institutional designation are significant external recognitions of the institution’s quality of governance, management, educational provision, and its staff and students.

Securing both TDAP and institutional designation also permit the college to use the title of ‘University College’. We have now submitted an application for the use of  this title and plan to use this hallmark of excellence from September 2017.
