About us

With award-winning support, including a £5,000 cost of living allowance for full-time, UK undergraduates which doesn’t have to be paid back, we offer many degrees accredited by the University of Warwick, ranked 9th in the UK in The Guardian 2024 league table.

Voted the highest-ranking university in the region at this year’s Whatuni Student Choice Awards, as voted by students, our university community is inclusive and diverse and we are located in the heart of one of England’s biggest, youngest and most dynamic cities.

Investing over £200 million into our campuses, we specialise in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in subject areas including business and finance, nursing and social work, physiotherapy and psychology, computer science and cyber security, sport, education, tourism, hospitality and creative industries. We also offer STEM subjects in sustainable engineering, sustainable construction and digital, supported by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Institute of Technology.

We've Got Your Back

Birmingham is a place of culture. We pride ourselves on welcoming all students and ensuring we provide you with the tools to succeed. We offer award-winning support, state-of-the-art facilities and a range of placement opportunities.

What makes us different

A smaller university, but with big industry connections, we are committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to succeed in a supportive environment. Our students vouch for this and this year, we were voted best in the region for student support, as well as postgraduate and international, at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards.

Our Centre for Academic Skills and English (CASE) provides 1-2-1 tailored academic support, and through HIRED, students can tap into placements through our network of over 1,000 employer partners.

We also offer first-class mental health and wellbeing, disability and neurodiversity support, as well as a range of financial support through scholarships and bursaries, including our free £5,000 Cost of Living Allowance to help students with expenses.

Easily connected to the rest of the UK and the world, our location is also a draw for students as we are surrounded by booming businesses, green spaces, vibrant nightlife and a mix of cultures right on our doorstep.
