Student life

Leeds University Union, runs more than 300 student-led clubs and societies, bringing together like-minded students. It’s a great way to meet new people and create amazing memories. The Union team can also support you across a range of issues, including money, housing and your studies.

As a student, you’ll also have access to a network of wellbeing services. You can access free professional counselling, and mental health support. You’ll be allocated a personal tutor, to help to guide your academic and personal development.

We also have a great range of accommodation. Most is off campus, either close to the city centre or in the popular student areas of Headingley or Hyde Park.

Leeds is a lively, multicultural city and just a 10-minute walk away from campus. Leeds has one of the largest student communities in the country, making it an exciting place to live and learn. There's also the Yorkshire countryside to escape to, so you have access to both city and green space on your doorstep.

Campus and facilities

Here at the University of Leeds, everything is all on one campus, so it’s easy to get around and there are lots of places to meet friends.

Our campus is home to the original University buildings, like the Great Hall, built in the 1880s, and brutalist 1960s architecture. There’s also lots of green spaces on campus to support your wellbeing, including St George's Field and the Sensory Garden.

With four libraries, from the incredible Brotherton library to the ultra-modern Laidlaw, these are the perfect go-to places when you’re on campus. Here you can book study spaces, click and collect your books and learn new academic and research skills.

The Leeds University Union is also right at the heart of campus, and is home to all things food, drink and music, as well as our Help Desk, gig venues and student radio station.

We have a fantastic range of accommodation from modern, purpose-built apartments to converted mansions both on and off campus. To find out more, visit accommodation.leeds.ac.uk
