Campus and facilities

Historic red brick buildings and striking contemporary architecture meet state-of-the-art teaching and study spaces on campus.

Facilities range from one of the largest medical and dental teaching and hospital complexes in the UK, to purpose-built studios, high-specification labs, an on-campus museum, theatre and art gallery.

We’ve created a £110 million engineering hub for the next generation of visionaries. We’re a partner in Newcastle’s £350 million Helix – a global innovation district for education, research, science and technology that will enhance your learning.

Four libraries form our award-winning Library Service. Exceptional indoor sports facilities are complemented by outdoor pitches and facilities in easy-to-access locations around the city – we’re Top 10 for sport in the UK (British Universities and Colleges Sport league).

Off-campus facilities include two commercially run farms, a coastal station, marine lab and £1 million research vessel designed by staff and students.
