Student life

Dance teachers are at the heart of the art form we love and with the RAD operating in over 85 countries with 36 international offices and a strong global membership, we are a well-established teacher training and education organisation.

At the forefront of dance education and teaching for a century, we have the experience, expertise and enthusiasm to help you realise your goals, wherever you are in your career as a dance teacher.

Our graduates are highly sought-after by employers, with graduates working across a number of sectors and teaching contexts throughout the world. We have partnerships and connections with many dance education organisations around the world. Our work placements and visits add to your learning experience and ensure that you are well prepared for the workplace.

We have an international reputation for the highest professional standards, and all our programmes whether delivered on-site or via distance learning, are taught by highly-qualified, experienced tutors.

There are 32 boroughs in Greater London, stretching from the City of London and Westminster, to surrounding areas like Chelsea, Camden, Richmond, Hackney and Islington.

It’s big, but it’s easy to jump on a train, tube or bus to experience everything on offer – from food pop-ups to world famous music acts, free museums and West End shows.

Fantastically diverse and historical, with many industries and businesses based here to kickstart your career, London is one of the most desirable – if pricey – cities in the world.

Campus and facilities

The RAD sits on the bank of the River Thames in Southwest London, and our global headquarters provides state-of-the-art education and training facilities for our students.

We have seven fully equipped dance studios providing students with plenty of opportunity to practise and rehearse, alongside
our purpose-built 200-seat theatre for student and community dance performances.

The Wolfson Library offers bright, contemporary spaces for private and group study, including audio visual stations, a group study suite for collaborative working and a second study room dedicated to viewing material from the secure archive room.

The campus building also houses a RAD shop and a café offering somewhere to meet before or after a class.

We do not have any student accommodation onsite, however we have partnered with urbanest to give students access to an allotted number of purpose-built student accommodation in Battersea. We can also provide a comprehensive list of student accommodation in the local area.
