Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships combine real-world skills with academic study in a paid position with an employer. You’ll develop technical knowledge, gain practical experience, and build the broader skills needed for your future career through workplace learning, formal training and hands-on practice in a professional environment.

The OU is a leading apprenticeship provider with over 3,700 current apprentices on higher and degree programmes and more than 2,900 graduates. Our apprentices work with over 1,200 different employers across multiple sectors.

We deliver higher and degree-level apprenticeships across the UK, including healthcare, policing, social work and digital programmes in England, and digital and IT training in Wales. With our expertise in flexible learning, you can study at your own pace and in a place that suits you, balancing education with your work and personal commitments.
