Student life
Living in Cardiff
It is no coincidence that our students love Cardiff, but what makes it so special?
A creative hub
Cardiff, the capital city of Wales is one of the UK’s most popular university cities.
The city’s impressive range of arts, sporting & cultural venues are all within easy walking distance from the city centre. The city produces an imaginative programme of events & festivals, and you will find all the eating, shopping and nightlife options you would expect in a thriving capital.
Exciting opportunities
With the creative sector booming in Wales, there are exciting opportunities for our students and graduates to gain experience and find employment. Cardiff is home to the national arts companies of Wales, including Welsh National Opera and BBC National Orchestra of Wales, World leading production company Bad Wolf (His Dark Materials, A Discovery of Witches & I Hate Suzie), Real SFX (an Emmy Award & multi-BAFTA winning special effects company) & several arts centres across the city.
Campus and facilities
The College's stunning landmark building is located in the heart of Cardiff, overlooking beautiful urban parkland and just a 5-minute stroll from the city centre and mere 15 minutes from student halls.
A close community
With under 1000 students, we offer an inclusive and nurturing environment. The College is small enough that you won’t get lost in the crowd and we hope you will feel very much at home. Our main campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities, concert hall and theatres.
The Old Library, is our rehearsal and performance space located in the heart of the city centre, and Llanishen Studios, our production workshop.
A dynamic and diverse environment
As one of the city’s most popular arts venues, the College presents over 500 public performances each year, offering plentiful, diverse opportunities for your work to be seen and heard.
With music and drama specialisms all under one roof, there are opportunities to collaborate across disciplines.
