Why choose Bristol?

A Bristol degree is highly attractive to employers: we offer our students a high-quality, research-led education, and enhance our global reputation by recruiting the best academics. Bristol is in the top four universities targeted by leading graduate employers (source: The Graduate Market in 2023, High Fliers Research).

As a member of the Russell Group and the Worldwide Universities Network, Bristol is one of the UK’s leading research universities. Our courses are shaped by the very latest thinking, our students work on real-life projects with academics who are experts in their field, and our researchers pass on their knowledge, enthusiasm and experience.

Our libraries, IT facilities and study spaces keep students connected and support independent learning. Bristol aims to create the best available teaching and learning environment with state-of-the-art laboratories and specialist equipment. The main University campus is based in Clifton, at the heart of the city. We are also developing a new world-leading campus, Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, designed to focus on digital, creative and innovation sectors.

Bristol is small enough to feel warm and friendly, but with the buzz of a major city. A welcoming, historic and creative hub, Bristol is home to world-class culture, plenty of green spaces and a multicultural community.

With personal tutors, Student Wellbeing Services and accommodation teams, we have a comprehensive network of support services to ensure students can get help and advice if they need it. Our services cover all aspects of university life – academic, personal, financial and practical. Our Global Lounge, Student Visa Advisers and Multifaith Chaplaincy help international students navigate settling into the UK.

Employer connections

Bristol has connections with hundreds of employers, from small businesses to global organisations. Many of our courses are accredited by professional bodies, societies and institutes, meaning your degree will be recognised internationally.

Our industry partners share their knowledge at careers fairs, networking events and workshops, and mentor student entrepreneurs. At Bristol, our Careers Service can support you throughout your studies and up to three years after graduation, wherever you are in the world.

Students' Union

Our students' union, Bristol SU, helps our students get the best out of their time at Bristol.

Led by students, for students, Bristol SU provides opportunities to learn new skills, make new friends, and have fun, as well as representing students’ views and needs.

There are more than 400 student societies and sports clubs to choose from.

The city
