Safe and affordable
Preston holds Purple Flag status awarded for its low crime rates, vibrant nightlife and excellent range of visitor attractions. The University ranked as the most affordable University in the UK, The Times 2023 so your money will go further. Starting at only £85 per week, our halls rent is almost half the national average, CUG, 2024.
We offer competitive tuition fee levels for our programmes as well as a comprehensive range of scholarships and bursaries. Each international student may be eligible for up to £5,500 in scholarships.
Student support
We have excellent international student support teams who can help with your wellbeing, as well as visa and immigration queries. Academically you will benefit from a personal tutor and student coaches. You’ll have access to our Oasis Faith and Spirituality Centre which welcomes people of all faiths with spaces for prayer, worship and reflection and support from a multi-faith chaplaincy team.
Career prospects
91% of our international graduates are in further study or employment, HESA graduate outcomes, 2020-21. Our careers experts provide tailored support to help you find work in the UK or overseas, even after you graduate. We can help you look for the right jobs, build your CV, write applications, and prepare for interviews. We also organise job fairs for networking with employers throughout the year.
The gateway to the UK
Preston benefits from fantastic transport links. Our campus is only a 10-minute walk from Preston Railway Station, which is part of the West Coast Mainline route, so you can catch a train and explore the rest of the UK. Trains to London, Edinburgh and Glasgow take less than two and a half hours or you can travel to Liverpool, Manchester, the seaside, lakes, and mountains in less than an hour. Whenever you need to travel overseas it’s easy to get to either Manchester Airport or Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Our other campuses are also well connected. You can enjoy days out in Manchester from our Burnley Campus, or venture into Whitehaven and the Lake District from our Westlakes Campus.
