The Guildhall School of Music & Drama is one of the world's leading conservatoires and drama schools, offering musicians, actors, stage managers and theatre technicians an inspiring environment in which to develop as artists and professionals.

The School is a global leader of creative and professional practice and promotes innovation, experiment and research. Selected as one of the top ten institutions for performing arts in the world (QS World University Rankings 2016) and the top-rated conservatoire in the Guardian University Guide 2017 league table for Music, it has over 900 students in higher education, drawn from nearly 60 countries around the world.

The School is also the UK’s leading provider of specialist music training at the under-18 level with nearly 2,500 students in Junior Guildhall and the Centre for Young Musicians.

Milton Court

Our new facilities at Milton Court are now open, with the first public events taking place in autumn 2013. The new building, virtually over the road from the main Silk St building, houses world-class performance facilities.

Our Research Activity

Research is a thriving part of the School. Bringing students, staff, visiting artists and academics together, it creates space to experiment, reflect and to explore fundamental questions which inform our practice as artists.
