Barnsley is a great place to live and study. It’s friendly, affordable and just a short distance from Sheffield and Leeds.
Barnsley has something for everyone including theatres, art gallery, Experience Barnsley museum, lots of bars, restaurants and shops and the Glass Works, a £180m development scheme, which provides a modern, contemporary retail and leisure destination, containing shops, restaurants, a cinema and bowling alley.
The College has a supportive and friendly learning environment. The Student Services team are available to support with funding, accommodation, careers information, advice and guidance, disability guidance and much more.
When you enrol, you will automatically become a member of the Students’ Union (SU). The SU is here to represent, support and advise you on all aspects of campus life, ensuring you have the best possible experience during your time with us.
Campus and facilities
We have invested significantly in our facilities and have innovative teaching and learning ensuring you will get the knowledge and experience that will help you to progress to the next stage in your career.
Our campus’ are much smaller than traditional university campus. This means we are able to offer more intimate class sizes, quick access to equipment and convenient use of facilities.

State-of-the-art facilities including:
- Animal Management students will be at our working farm and visitor attraction.
- Esports students will be able to study in a dedicated Esports Arena.
- Sport: make use of the great facilities at Honeywell Sports campus.
- Our award-winning Health and Wellbeing Centre.
- Access the Library which contains journals and computers.
