Our Global Offices

We have dedicated Global Offices based in China, India, West Africa and South East Asia, looking after 17 countries in total. Staff from our Global Offices provide free-of-charge advice and guidance to students looking to study with us. Our teams can help with your university application from choosing the right course, to securing successful enrolment. They can also provide you with information on the scholarships and funding available to you, our student accommodation and how to secure your place, as well as providing you with pre-departure briefings to prepare you for your arrival in the UK and at Northumbria.

International Student Support

All of our students benefit from our excellent support services whilst studying with us. But, to help our international students settle into life at Northumbria University and the UK, our Welfare, Immigration and Funding Advisers offer free, confidential guidance and support on a wide range of issues including:

•    Working in the UK as an international student
•    International student finance issues
•    Advice on opening a UK bank account
•    Advice on aspects relating to living in the UK
•    Passport, Visa and BRP advice and support
•    Driving in the UK

FREE Meet & Greet Service

Our International students also have free access to a wide range of facilities and specialist services whilst studying with us, starting with our friendly and welcoming free Meet and Greet service where we’ll meet new students at Newcastle International Airport, Newcastle Central Train Station or Bus Stations and arrange transport to their accommodation.

Graduate Route Visa 

Our international students can benefit from the Graduate Visa Route to help them stand out in a competitive job market. This allows international students the opportunity to apply for work in the UK for two years after completing their undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

Northumbria Students’ Union

As an international student we realise how important it is that you settle in and feel at home as soon as you can. One of the best ways to do this, is to sign up to some of our societies and clubs on offer. Northumbria Students' Union (NSU) is home to over 100 different societies, giving students like you the chance to make new friends and learn new skills while they are studying with us. Many of these societies are ran by our international students, to help fellow students like you to settle into life in the UK and Northumbria. You’ll have opportunities to meet like-minded people and experience lots of different cultures from around the world, all whilst helping Newcastle and Northumbria to become your new Home Away from Home!
