You’ll find an incredible range of support services at BU, and you can even contact them before you arrive, such as Disability & Additional Learning Support. 

AskBU 

It’s not unusual to worry about settling into life at uni. Our AskBU team is on hand and can point you in the direction of the right support for you.

Academic support 

  • Your Personal Tutor is your first point of contact for any discussions around academic progress. 
  • We have Peer Assisted Learning Leaders, who are fellow students in the year above.

Disability & Additional Learning Support 

  • Information, advice and guidance for disability-related concerns  
  • Assistance with applications for Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA) 

Health and wellbeing support 

Financial support 

  • Our Student Money Advice Team can help with money concerns. 
  • Bursaries and scholarships are available to support eligible new students
  • Grants and funds for students experiencing financial hardship. 

Accommodation services 

  • If you’re in BU accommodation, ResLifeBU are on hand to provide support. 
  • LettingsBU advertise shared student houses and flats in the area. 

Social support 

  • SUBU have a range of clubs and societies.
  • SportBU provide gym and sporting facilities.
  • Our team of chaplains and faith advisors offer confidential and non-judgemental support

Careers guidance and support 

  • The CareersBU Team offer advice and extra-curricular activities.
  • BU offers a host of international opportunities such as studying abroad and placements.
