University of Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton
International
If you’re looking for multiculturalism and a dynamic urban environment without the London price-tag, then Wolverhampton may be right for you!
You could be among the hundreds of international students we welcome each year to the University of Wolverhampton, who join our friendly community in the centre of England, or study our degrees through our partner institutions overseas.
There are lots of great reasons to study at the University of Wolverhampton – here are just a few of them:
1. We put you first
The central pillar of our over-arching strategy is: Students First. We’ve been committed to providing our students with the opportunities presented by a first class education from our earliest days in 1851, and continue to make sure you’re our priority.
2. We’re the University of Opportunity
It says it in our coat of arms – our motto ‘Innovation and Opportunity’ is what guides us, as we help you to realise your potential, whether you’re the first in your family to go to University, or if your studies are heading towards the expertise gained through PhD research.
3. Our graduates get jobs
A huge 96% of our class of 2017 were in work or further study six months after graduation, according to the most recent Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey, and we boost your employability further with initiatives like Career Development Week, and options to take part in a year in industry, volunteering, work experience and placements, to start your own business, and more!
4. We’re investing and improving
The fruits of our 2020 biggest-ever £250 million investment programme 'Our Vision, Your Opportunity' can already be seen today in new buildings, courses, learning and teaching, research, skills and training. It’s the biggest ever investment in our history to date – so the future looks bright!
5. You’re spoilt for choice!
We offer hundreds of courses in a wide range of subjects, and at a range of levels to suit you; including taster sessions, Foundation courses, Bachelor’s and postgraduate degrees. You can also learn at a number of our partner colleges around the country – in addition to our international offering and a number of online options. You’re certain to find something you’ll love.
6. We have amazing scholarships and bursaries available!
Helping students like you to access higher education is what we’re all about, transforming lives for the better.
We offer funds including: access bursaries for disabled students and those who have previously been in care; a travel fund or accommodation cost reduction for all entrants; or you can apply for the Sports Achievement Scholarship: worth up to £4,500 over three years! And if you're one of our graduates, you might be entitled to a Postgraduate Loyalty Discount.
7. Our facilities are better than ever
We invest in multi-million pound buildings and state-of-the-art facilities so you, our students, can have the best possible learning experience. Recent additions to our portfolio include the science-focused Rosalind Franklin Building, and home to Wolverhampton Business School, the Lord Swraj Paul Building.
Our School of Architecture and Built Environment will soon move into its new home at our inspiring new Springfield Campus. Its development has had far-reaching and positive consequences for the city, with the announcement of a multi-million pound housing and retail development “next-door”.
We’re looking to the future – and others are too.
8. We’re on the pulse of research
We’re changing lives and making a difference through the inspiring work of our research community, whose profile continues to grow and receive global recognition.
In the most recent Research Excellence Framework (2014), we achieved our best ever results with 41% of our submission graded as world-leading or internationally excellent.
With REF 2021 on the horizon, we continue to demonstrate the positive impact our research has on business, industry, society – and, of course, our students, whose teaching is directly informed by the latest innovations and findings.
