Student life

University life isn’t all about studying – sometimes you have to have fun too. Luckily, it’s quick and easy to get to the centre of Manchester from our campuses, and you can easily access the wide choice of shops, bars, restaurants and venues that Manchester and Salford offer.

When you join as a student, you’ll automatically become a member of our Students’ Union, which runs activities, clubs and societies. Joining the SU is a great way to make new friends and get the most out of your time at university.

Our accommodation is owned and managed by specialist student accommodation provider, Campus Living Villages. John Lester and Eddie Colman Courts are located next to our Frederick Road campus, and Peel Park Quarter is in the heart of our Peel Park campus.

What's it like to live in North West?
Check out our region guide

The North West is made up of Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Merseyside. Its two biggest cities, Liverpool and Manchester, are global landmarks in music and football history.

The region was the heart of the industrial revolution – at one time, Lancashire produced half the world’s cotton. Many architectural reminders of this era remain, like Liverpool’s Royal Albert Docks and Chester's Victorian centre.

The stunning Lake District – home to England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike – needs no filters, while Blackpool is a seaside adventure.
