The two day 2023 Year 10 Easter School will take place at our Camden campus in London, where students will take part in lectures, practicals and Q&As with our world-leading researchers. We will focus on hands-on experiences in our labs, anatomy museum and with our animals, and they’ll get the chance to meet current RVC students, other young people with a passion for animals and professionals working in a range of animal science careers. Students will work together to solve veterinary case studies, reflect on career goals and how to achieve them and enjoy student social activities!
Please note, the following expenses are covered: Food and drinks whilst on campus, transport to and from the campus, all equipment and activities.
Eligibility: The Year 10 Easter School is intended to support pupils currently in Year 10 from under-represented backgrounds in higher education. To participate in this activity you must attend a state school and meet a number of other Widening Participation eligibility criteria such as being the first in the family to go to university, being eligible for Free School Meals, or living in an area with low progression rates to higher education.

This day visit to the RVC's Camden Campus allows students to experience learning at the RVC through workshops, an anatomy quiz in our museum and a session with our live calves. Students will also have the opportunity to tour campus with our student ambassadors receiving advice and information.

The Pre-Vet Summer School is an immersive 13-day residential programme at RVC’s Hertfordshire Campus for aspiring veterinary students. It includes 25-30 hours of work experience in leading animal hospitals, farms, and handling environments, plus university-level lectures, research projects, clinical skills training, and real-life case studies. Students receive mentorship from Student Ambassadors and guidance on the application process. A social programme features London excursions, a West End show, and animal experiences, fostering friendships and professional skills. The programme offers valuable academic, practical, and career insights, helping students prepare for vet school and gain a deeper understanding of the profession.
