In this online session, you will have the opportunity to experience one of our French Studies courses, giving you a taste of what it's like to study at the University of London Institute in Paris. It’s also a great chance to meet our programme director, Catriona MacLeod, and ask any questions you may have.
This taster course, delivered in French with some English, will explore the roots of sequential art, tracing its possible origins in the prehistoric cave paintings at Lascaux and examining the ‘birth’ of the modern comic strip. We’ll consider the debates around its invention and explore how the bande dessinée developed throughout the 20th century in France.
