Withdrawal of deferred entry applications

We’re often contacted by applicants who are no longer intending on pursuing their deferred place.

Posted Wed 28 September 2022

As our business rules state, two applications for the same year of entry cannot be active. We will cancel the new application and inform the applicant, requiring action from the deferred provider, the applicant, and UCAS.

We first introduced this process during the January ECD, and following consultation with the provider advisory group in March this year, we’re repeating the process to run from 10-15 October.

By request from an applicant, UCAS will take the required action (withdrawal of deferred application) to allow their new application to be progressed. As a provider impacted by this process, you would be notified of this complete withdrawal through the link services, as per standard practice.

If you have any questions or concerns related to this process, please feel free to contact the Customer Success Team.
