Verification of qualifications

At this time of year, with any qualifications not received through UCAS, we advise you to stay alert to possible fraudulent activity and ensure due diligence in checking qualifications before accepting applicants.

Posted Wed 9 August 2023

This includes applicants approaching you in clearing, and those not already in the UCAS system applying using the RPA process.

Please use this form to advise the Verification team of any concerns regarding an application in the current cycle.  If an application is brought to their attention, a range of actions will be taken. You can find out more about this here.

For RPAs, there are limited verification checks that can be actioned. If you find that you have been sent fraudulent qualification documents in support of an RPA, please notify the Verification team as soon as this has been identified, along with confirmation of the fraudulent documentation from the relevant awarding body or centre. It remains the provider’s responsibility to withdraw an RPA if an applicant no longer meets their criteria for acceptance. More information on processing RPAs can be found here.

You can contact the Verification Team by email at verification@ucas.ac.uk, phone on 01242 545494 or you can get in touch via the webform.
