Using Stops and delayed confirmation decisions (DCFs)

A Stop can be recorded from 2 September to prevent applicants who will not be able to meet the conditions of their offer until after 21 September (but before 21 October), from being rejected by default on 21 September.

A delayed confirmation decision (DCF) can be recorded against applicants to prevent applicants who will not be able to meet the conditions of their offer before the RBD on 21 October from being rejected on that date. Providers may use a DCF for applicants who you wish to remain at CF in the 2020 cycle, to await the results of the autumn series, which are expected by 31 January 2021 (date TBC).

Providers may use a DCF for applicants who you wish to remain at CF in the 2020 cycle, to await the results of the autumn series, which are expected by 31 January 2021 (date TBC).

To apply a DCF in web-link, providers need to ensure that the applicant is in a CF/CI state and then apply a ‘RD Confirmation Delay’ transaction (between 2 September and 21 October)

If a provider has any applicants who have decided to take an autumn examination but have been previously accepted or rejected in confirmation then a DCF can be applied but providers will need to contact the HEP Team in order to ‘unpick’ the confirmation.

If a provider isn’t willing to use the Delayed Confirmation Decision, the applicant will need to re apply in the 2021 cycle or the provider can process a 2021 RPA.

Any applicants who are unable to meet their conditions before 31 January 2021 will need to submit a new 2021 entry application.
