It’s a key tool for learners so it’s incredibly important that new Tariff points replace current Tariff points, to prevent learners becoming confused regarding the switchover.
The traffic around the new Tariff on Twitter is already building and with 2017 Apply launching yesterday, 24 May, there is likely to be more focus on Tariff points. We would encourage you to ensure your contact staff and outreach teams feel able to answer questions on the new Tariff. We have lots of tools to help customer-facing staff manage queries about the new Tariff, such as our Tariff quiz, factsheets and the adviser page on ucas.com.
The Tariff tables, Tariff qualifications spreadsheet, Tariff calculator, and Tariff API have all been updated on ucas.com for the annual update which takes place each May. They contain a revised suite of new UK vocational qualifications, the remaining UK qualifications ‘rolled over’ from the old Tariff, and international qualifications nominated by providers last year. This includes the Baccalauréat Général, the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, and the new Irish Leaving Certificate (revised grading structure). Please ensure that you’re up-to-date with this information in case learners and advisers ask about it. If you have used the API to create your own branded calculator, please be aware our API will automatically update. The update includes the latest list of qualifications on the new Tariff.
If you have any questions, please contact your Relationship Manager.
