This has involved sessions at the UCAS Teachers’ and Advisers’ Conference, Annual Admissions Conference, a provider webinar, a learner focus group, and a range of stakeholder meetings.
Following this feedback, we have now finalised our position on the TEF and we will:
- develop comprehensive information and advice for learners and advisers outlining what the TEF is and how ratings are determined. We will also explain the differing approaches to TEF across the UK, and why some providers may not have a TEF rating
- display TEF ratings in the search tool for undergraduate courses, which will link directly to the information and advice on ucas.com. Information about TEF ratings will be sourced from HEFCE and allocated based on a provider’s UKPRN. We will not display any TEF information for providers that do not have a TEF rating
Participating providers will be formally notified of their TEF rating on 12 June, and the results will be made public on 14 June. We plan to update our website and search tool in line with this release.
For 2018 entry, our search tool will not allow learners to filter providers by TEF rating. However, as with all our products and services, we will continue to monitor feedback about this.
Join us for our TEF webinar from 10:30 – 11:30 on 1 June to find out more about the TEF and how it will be displayed in the search tool, and to ask questions.
If you would like to discuss this further, or have any questions in the meantime, please contact Ben Jordan, Senior Policy Executive, at b.jordan@ucas.ac.uk.
