In July UCAS Media launched livingatuni.com in response to a request from students for more accessible information on accommodation options at university. Following initial feedback, we temporarily withdrew the site whilst we assessed ways to balance the needs of universities and private providers, whilst keeping the best interests and needs of students at the heart of the site.
Following close work with a number of universities, the Association for Student Residential Accommodation (ASRA) and the College & University Business Officers (CUBO), we will be re-launching Living at Uni on 15 December. With so much choice available, it’s important that prospective students have clear, unbiased information about all of their options, and the new site will therefore be split into two specific user journeys:
Those starting their first year
- information about what to consider when leaving home for the first time*
- details about the different accommodation options*
- what to look out for regarding accommodation at an open day*
- links to university accommodation pages, helping to drive traffic to the university sites
- information about private provision
- things to look out for when entering into tenancy agreements
*This content has been developed in partnership with Which? to ensure the information is of the highest quality.
Those returning to university after their first year
- information on the types of accommodation available
- advice on talking to their university accommodation offices to see if they can stay in halls
- a property search for accommodation located near their university – this has been developed in conjunction with Unipol using the ANUK code, to ensure that all properties are accredited, and the content will be reviewed on a monthly basis. If you wish to be included please contact your Account Manager who will talk you through the options and prices.
