UCAS data for HESA transaction (Star J files) – updated file now available

Following last week’s communication regarding the error in the UCAS data for HESA Transaction (Star J files), we can confirm that the file containing the updated UKPRN field (PREVINST) is now available on our FTP server under the following name convention: CCC_ukprn_datafix.xxxxxx, where CCC is the provider code and xxxxxx is your security key. To confirm, this file is a CSV file which will contain the Personal ID, Application Scheme Code and the correct UKPRN identifier against the previous institution (PREVINST) for only those affected applicants.

In addition to the availability of the file, we can also update the time stamp via the link products. To request this information please email dqa@ucas.ac.uk by close of play on Wednesday 4 March.

Please note all other data in the Star J have not changed.

We have also updated the school table to correct the UKPRN value. This value is not contained in the link products, however you will see a change to the last_updated value but will not see any changes to this data.
