We have identified an error in the UCAS data for HESA transaction (Star J files) we supplied to you. The error occurs in the mapping of the UKPRN identifier against the previous institution (PREVINST), which is taken from the last educational establishment provided by the applicant. 

If you are using the Star J data for any purpose other than your HESA return, we would advise you to suspend work until we have resolved this error. As a matter of urgency we are investigating a number of solutions and liaising with HESA to ensure this is resolved as soon as possible. We will provide an update Wednesday 25 February.
