Take the spotlight – please encourage your students to take part!

Following the discussion at the UCAS Conservatoires user group meeting on 26 February, we are now extending our Take the Spotlight competition an extra two weeks to end at 09:00 on Monday 16 March.

We would appreciate your help in promoting the competition. Posters have been posted to each conservatoire and we’d be really grateful if they could be distributed – we’d also be really grateful if you could encourage your social media and internal communications team to help spread the message.

All students have to do is send us a one-minute video or 3,500 character essay (with spaces) and in return they could win up to £2,500. We want them to tell us:

• what’s great about studying at your conservatoire
• why they love their subject
• what life is really like at a conservatoire

We’ll be using this content to inspire students who are considering applying to conservatoires, by giving them a flavour of what it’s like to be a student at one. We plan to issue a press release at the end of the competition, announcing the winners and the conservatoires where they are studying. The conservatoires of the winning entrants will be given an opportunity to preview the content before the winners are announced.
