Starting the Conversation: UCAS report on student mental health

On Thursday, we published our latest report focusing on student mental health.

Posted Wed 16 June 2021

A few key findings from the report:

  • There has been a 450% increase in student mental health declarations over the last 10 years.
  • Nearly half of students do not share information about their mental health with their chosen university or college.
  • UCAS estimates that over 70,000 students may enter HE every year with a mental health condition.
  • Further progress is needed to break the stigma around mental health, and more needs to be done to highlight the support available to students.
