Single sign-on registration for ucas.com

We're developing a single sign-on registration for ucas.com to allow you to personalise your online experience and give you immediate access to all the products and services you need.

We are developing a single sign-on registration for ucas.com. This will ultimately allow you to personalise your online experience and will give you immediate access to all the products and services you need. It’s a new and exciting development for us – we’re not there yet, but the first phase is to ensure all our existing customers have a unique identifier on ucas.com. As we launch new products and services, they’ll also be accessed using this same unique identifier.

We’re launching this for ucas.com on 30 September – from this date all customers will need their own login. There can be no generic or shared logins (e.g. admin@name.ac.uk) because this means we cannot personalise content or provide secure access to other systems as we launch them.

What do we need you to do?

As the web-link administrator you will be able to manage and create user accounts for access to ucas.com, and ultimately our other systems, within your university, college or conservatoire. If you agree you are the best person to do this, please send an email confirming this to logins@ucas.ac.uk by Monday 14 September. If not, please provide us with the details of who this should be.

If you are the web-link administrator for multiple providers, you’ll have received multiple emails from us and need to respond to each of these.

What will happen next?

  1. We’ll send you a user guide towards the end of September that will show you, as the administrator, how to manage accounts within the new system.
  2. On 30 September we’ll email all current users of web-link, and those registered to use the secure providers’ section of ucas.com, asking individuals to re-register to gain access. This will take no more than five minutes. You will also receive this email. Without re-registering, users will not have access to the secure providers’ section.

This development is a major step in improving your experience of our products and services. The phased approach means you will see no difference to the information on ucas.com once you have re-registered and logged in on 30 September, but we will keep you updated on progress.
