Our SFTP replaced our File Transfer Protocol service in July, offering improved security and functionality. We implemented the service to ensure the prcoess of sending and receiving data and operational files was as efficient and secure as possible.
As a user of the SFTP service, you may have received an email from us informing you that your password needs to be changed. This is all part of our commitment to ensuring the Secure File Transfer service complies with ISO27001 best practice guidelines for information security. This requires passwords to be changed at least every 90 days, or the account will be locked.
If you have not changed your password within 75 days, you'll receive an automated reminder – please click on the link in the email and log in with your current password. When you've done this, you'll be presented with a screen to change your password.
Once you've changed your password, you'll be able to use the service to access files as usual.
Please note, you will get this reminder email every 75 days going forward. If you have any queries, please email the HEP Team at hepservicedesk@ucas.ac.uk.
