Results embargo 2016 reminder

Each year, we provide you with results information (referred to as results data) prior to its publication, so that Confirmation decisions can be made ahead of results days.

Posted Wed 3 August 2016

We obtain the results data from awarding organisations under strict contractual obligations – that all the information will remain confidential and under embargo conditions during an agreed embargo period.

This year’s results embargo ends:

  • 09:00 am 9 August            SQA results day
  • 06:00 am 18 August           A level results and any other boards included

Please remember that you are strictly prohibited from releasing results information and any related information during the embargo period. This includes automated email campaigns and mailings sent out to applicants during the embargo period.

To ensure you do not inadvertently breach the embargo, we recommend that you suspend all applicant-facing communications during the embargo period. Please also review your local arrangements and ensure they are adequate. Privileged access to early results data is critical to our admissions process, and it is important that we work together to minimise the risk of any breaches during the embargo period, otherwise access may be withdrawn in the future.

Please refer to the information contained on ucas.com under the secure area of the providers section named Awarding Body Linkage (ABL) for information relating to advice and guidance of how you can actively prevent a breach occurring.

You must notify UCAS immediately if a breach has occurred, for whatever reason. Email awardingbodylinkage@ucas.ac.uk.
