Converting the flat-file data
In support of the UCAS Data for HESA transaction 2018, we’ve made a Microsoft Excel tool available, to convert the flat-file into a CSV or Excel file, with headings to help analyse the data.
This is not intended to replace the flat-file, or any direct import via odbc-link or xml-link, into your management information systems.
You can download this tool and conversion guidelines, from the 'HESA return' page.
Additional statistical data – (StarX)
At the end of the cycle, you can request further statistical data (StarX), for each applicant referred to your provider in the previous cycle.
It will not contain data for any cancelled or completely withdrawn applications, and is only available through the link products. Details of what’s included is on the 'Availability of UCAS data' page. If you want to access this data for 2018, you need to request it via the UCAS ServiceNow portal.
