The data forms part of the student record required by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). Some providers in England also use the data to support Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) returns. HESA has confirmed there are no changes for UCAS to apply to StarJ for 2017.
For those of you who have requested a StarJ flat file, this will be available via MOVEit, the secure file transfer service. You can find more details about this in the MOVEit user guide.
We will send a further communication on 22 November, to confirm the availability of the StarJ flat files, and the timestamp setting to download your data, if you receive it via odbc-link or xml-link.
More information, and access to the Specification of the UCAS data for HESA Transaction (*J) 2017, is available on the HESA return page.
