If you have applicants that have applied by the 25 January Equal Consideration Deadline you should aim to enter a decision by 18:00 on Thursday 18 May otherwise the applications will be rejected by default (RBD).

The UCAS terms of service states that providers are required to manage all their full-time UG applicants through the process and must process decisions by the relevant published RBD deadline.

The RBD deadline is there to give structure to the admissions cycle and ensure applicants receive decisions on their applications within a given timeframe.

The RBD should not be used as a catch-all. We can’t STOP decisions or delay the RBD, but we can advise and offer support if needed.

The following tips may be helpful to you in managing decisions:

  •  The ‘on time’ ODL list in Weblink provides details of the applications relevant to the deadline.
  • If you are waiting for information from an applicant, ensure your communications include a deadline before the RBD.  If the information is not received by the deadline stipulated, a withdrawal decision can be processed.  If the applicant subsequently responds to provide the information prior to the RBD and is offered a place, you can overwrite the Withdrawal decision.
  • If you have any issues that may prevent you from processing decisions by the deadline, please contact the Customer Success Team for advice.

If an applicant applies after the 25 January equal consideration deadline, but before the 30 June, then you should aim to enter a decision by 18:00 on 12 July.
