Reminder of preview period of new provider-level reports: sex, area background and ethnic group

As previously communicated on 9 May and in last week’s bulletin, we are offering a new data service.

Posted Thu 2 June 2016

As usual, for provider-level releases, there is an extended preview period. The preview period runs from Monday 9 May 2016 until publication on Thursday 9 June 2016.

If you are a provider we are offering to publish data for, and you wish to supply a technical note or withdraw from publication, you will need to complete the appropriate section of this form and email it to arc@ucas.ac.uk by 09:00 on Thursday 2 June 2016.

The new release includes data on the number of applications, offers, and acceptances from UK-domiciled students by sex, ethnic group, and area background (POLAR3, and SIMD quintile for providers in Scotland), during the 2010 to 2015 cycles. The reports also place applicant numbers in the context of population differences, and place differences in offer rates in the context of predicted grades and courses applied to. We are offering to publish this data on behalf of some providers. Alongside the reports, we also intend to publish a new data explorer tool, available on the UCAS website, to provide users with an alternative and interactive way of accessing the data contained in the published reports.

The data is accessible via MOVEit. More information about using MOVEit can be found in our Secure File Transfer Service User Guide.

We also advise that you should make your press teams aware of this new publication if you have not already done so, so they can prepare for media enquiries. Press will receive these data files under embargo on 7 June 2016, ahead of publication on 9 June 2016.

If you have any queries about these statistics, or the publication service, please contact your UCAS Relationship Manager.
